Can you use boxes to store your home goods well?

It is 2021 and still, the world is a bit crazy.  The economy is in shambles and because of this the housing market has been pretty awesome. Very low-interest rates created by the economic collapse have allowed for homes to be on the market and for super cheap.  Because of this, my family ended up moving into a new home as well. But our home is not new instead it was the oldest most run-down home in an amazing neighborhood.  It was a crazy idea to move into a nice location and work on the home until it was a reality and we decided to rock the house.  The thing about the was that we could only truly afford to work on it on our own and this made things a little complicated because winter was coming.  So we had to find ways to keep the home organized in order to be able to work on it constantly.  Because organization in the home can make your life so much better.

Living and working on a home simultaneously is not a very fun thing to do and I do not suggest ever doing it if you can help it.  We had to purchase so many items to keep on working and it was getting a bit tiring.  We purchased tapes, and caulking, and boards constantly and with all the supplies that we had we needed to find a way to organize.  With saws in one room and our nice things in another, we found out that we didn't have enough room to live and work due to all of the clutter.  This was a really hard and painful time for the family and we knew that we needed to make changes. Our plan was to save money and use cheap moving boxes to organize everything in.

We knew it was not normal, but you use what you have and since we just moved, we had tons of cheap moving boxes in our garage.  We ended up thinking of how to take all the random tools, and items, and even scraps and to make a way to organize it all so that we could live and work happily.  I ended up cutting up half of the packages in making them into bins.  This made them so useful because we could have open tops and see what was in them without having to open a regular package.

On normal packages, we ended up labeling them and stacking them all the way to the ceiling.  We tried to only put things that we wouldn't use that often in the lower boxes because we would have to take the top ones off to get them.  A good system to do this was to mark the basics of what was in the box and then the usefulness of the item.  Then we stacked the boxes based on use and that allowed us to be organized and save space.  This was the big organized move that allowed us to actually finish working on our home.  I hope these tips help you out and give you more options on a budget. I know that for my family it was a life saver and I wouldn't have been able to do it without it.
